Cheboygan Trail Committee

Jim Conboy heads the group that is responsible for the improvement of the Gaylord to Mackinaw City Trail.  Crushed limestone has now been laid and compacted along the entire 62 mile trail and the Grand Opening event is now scheduled for June, 2008.

Work has also begun along the Alpena to Mackinac corridor with DNR informational meetings in Onaway and Millersburg. The Millersburg effort is being coordinated with a plan to refurbish and reopen the historic downtown depot.Recently the DNR obtained a grant to complete design, engineering, and cost estimates to surface the entire trail.
