The City of Petoskey is planning several new in-town trails that will in time link to the Little Traverse Wheelway and the Petoskey to Mackinaw City Trail.

Included in the plan are:

A trail along the Bear River from Lake Street to Curtis Field on Standish Avenues
 Trails along Anderson and Cemetery Roads
 A diagonal trail through downtown from Emmet Street to Bay View

These trails are in various planning stages. The Anderson Road Trail was completed in summer, 2009.
