SUMMARY:2021 Summer Guided Tours
DESCRIPTION:  \nRegister Here\nFamilies and groups of friends are welcome. You can bring and ride your own bike or use one of ours. You must wear a helmet – we have approved helmets available if needed. You must be able to ride 7 miles. Smaller kids who can’t ride solo are welcome but you are responsible for transporting them (bike seats or attached buggies). We will provide water and a healthy snack at the Oden Fish Hatchery before your tour. We will ask you to sign a simple safety waiver when you arrive at the Trails Center prior to our departure. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:2021 Indian River Kayak Bike Biathlon
DESCRIPTION:This is the 14th year for this fun and exciting event in Indian River. Come to compete or come just for the fun of it. Kayaking on the beautiful Indian River and biking on the North Central state trail makes for a great event. \nEvent details and schedule\n  \n\nThe 14th Annual Kayak Bike Biathlon takes place on Sunday\, July 18\, 2021 from 9AM to 11AM.\n\n\nCheck-in begins at 8 AM at DeVoe Public Beach in Indian River.The event is limited to the first 100 registered participants.\n\n\nParticipants enter for fun\, fitness\, and/or competition.\n\n\nThe course begins with 2.24 miles of kayaking on the beautiful and historic Inland Waterway (Burt Lake and the Indian River).\n\n\nThe course continues with 11.68 miles of bicycling on the scenic North Central State Trail\, which is crushed lime-stone (not recommended for extremely narrow tires).\n\n\nThe start is at DeVoe Beach at 9AM. The transition from kayaking to biking is also at DeVoe Beach. The finish-line is near the Chamber of Commerce Building in Indian River. Refreshments\, awards\, and prizes are back at DeVoe Beach. The award ceremony begins at 11AM.\n\n\nRegistration includes free T-shirt and free refreshments.\n\n\nBeautiful wood plaques will be awarded to the top finishers in each age/gender category.\n\n\nAll participants will have a chance to win up to $1000 in donated prizes.\n\n\nAll proceeds this year will go to the construction of the new Burt Lake Bike Trail and the grooming of the Wildwood Hills Pathway Cross Country Ski Trails.\n\n\nParticipants must provide bicycle and proper helmet.\n\n\nParticipants must provide kayak with paddle\, and Coast Guard approved life-jacket .\n\n\nFor more information or to volunteer for this event contact Jess Miller\, 231-268-9349 or Margie Reh\, 517-896-1209 or email IRBiathlon@gmail.com.\n\n\nThis event is a fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds are donated to maintain quality trails in our local area.
