08 Nov Nakwema’s Deepwater Connector Takes Shape
Thanks to the generous support of 104 donors, TART Trails recently reached funding goals for the Deepwater Connector Trail, a key Nakwema Trailway project in partnership with Acme Township.
When completed, the Trailway will connect Charlevoix with the TART Trails system. Top of Michigan Trails Council is partnering with TART Trails on the Nakwema project.
This new segment links Bayside Park, the Acme Connector Trail, Acme Road, and the Deepwater Point Natural Area, enhancing non-motorized access and connecting local neighborhoods and businesses to TART’s 100-mile regional trail network. TART Trails, Top of Michigan Trails Council, and Acme Township will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 9 at 4:30 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of this essential connection. RSVP here.
