About the Trail
Connecting Boyne City and Boyne Falls
The Boyne Valley Trailway is a 6.3-mile paved non-motorized multiuse pathway that connects Boyne City and Boyne Falls.
The idea for the trail — connecting Boyne Falls and Boyne City, and on to Charlevoix through the Boyne City to Charlevoix Trail — started in 2000 with a small group of citizens. In 2020, all necessary easements and funding led to a completed trail, linking amenities in Boyne Falls and the all-seasons Boyne Mountain Resort to Boyne City and on to Charlevoix.
The Boyne Valley Trailway Committee worked for several years to establish the trail, which mostly follows the route of the former Boyne City, Gaylord & Alpena Railroad that once ran between Boyne Falls and Boyne City.
